Design of a Phase Shift Full Bridge Converter with PSIM

Design of a Phase Shift Full Bridge Converter with PSIM

In this webinar, we design a phase shift full bridge converter with PSIM utilizing Peak Current Mode Control on the input and an output voltage controller. The control loops are initially set up for analog control, a conversion for digital control making use of advanced PWM triggering available on the TI C2000 Piccolo processors will also be demonstrated.

The converter will be initially set up in open-loop and frequency sweeps in the s-domain and z-domain will be performed to determine the controller parameters. The digital control implementation will be verified with a real-time HIL simulation using code generated from PSIM and implemented on an F28069 processor.

The design of the power stage, specifically the design equations covering the sizing of the inductors and capacitors, will not be the primary objective of this webinar.

Some specific topics covered:

- How to set up a phase shift PWM in PSIM

- How to setup Peak Current mode control

- How to do a frequency sweep with a PCMC current loop

- How to set up a PCMC solution using a C2000 MCU

Additional Hardware used: Typhoon HIL 600,  Texas Instrument F28069 MCU
