Cloud Elasticity and Scalability

The recent Altair One™ release enhances the platform’s breadth and reliability so users have a complete overview of all features, including data management, high-performance computing (HPC), and the customer portal. Interactive applications like Altair® HyperMesh®, Altair® HyperView®, Altair® SimLab®, and Altair® Inspire™ can be launched in a browser. Solver jobs covering structural, thermal, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and high and low frequency electromagnetics disciplines can be submitted in the scalable and elastic cloud infrastructure, making it easier for organizations with limited IT and HPC resources to meet budgets and demand.

By leveraging automation, it makes engineering and design processes more efficient. From simple workflows to complex ones, Pulse enables fast, reliable, and repeatable modeling and analysis. With its new no-code user input UI and multiple programing languages API, constructing powerful modules that leverage the best capabilities of each tool is easier than ever.

Automated Design Exploration

Reduce lead time for pre- and post-processing by leveraging automated multiphysics simulation. HyperMesh makes it easier to manage project designs by allowing users to create scenarios defined by solver profiles and rule sets corresponding to different controls for automated control application and validation. Combined with the enhanced ability to load client-specific plugin features accessible to all clients and profiles, improved surface modeling, hex mesh, and tetra-mesh modeling, HyperMesh continues to drive cloud enablement, automation, and productivity within a solver-independent design and development environment.

Greater CFD Efficiency

Simulation 2022.2 also brings enhancements to Altair’s trusted solvers and intuitive workflows. Altair CFD™ includes multiple new updates, including an improved workflow with a single-window environment between SimLab and nanoFluidX. This is the first all-in-one workflow introduced to nanoFluidX that covers solver runs as well as pre- and post-processing. Altair AcuSolve™ continues to build upon its strength with stronger EDEM integration and improvements to its fluid topology optimization capabilities.

  • Altair® Feko® improves workflows for simulating complex multilayer or frequency selective surfaces in radome analyses with extended solver support. Additionally, Simulation 2022.2 also brings an expanded Feko component library; faster post-processing efficiency for array analysis by including also near or far fields in the S-parameter configuration; improved material import and visualization options for PCBs; and CityGML format support for defining and building data in propagation modeling simulations. This also includes includes WRAP, WinProp, and newFASANT.
  • For reliable systems modeling and visualization, Altair Embed® offers the ability to simulate the response from a decision tree for verification before deploying on hardware. The Altair Flux Tracker eDrives block includes a robust algorithm for rotor angle estimation. Additionally, AFT now supports code generation for embedded firmware implementation.
  • PSIM is more tightly integrated with Altair products for power electronics applications.
  • Create plots from various 2D and 3D OML plot types for post-processing simulation results in Activate. The new pneumatics library can be used to model industrial pneumatic systems, as well as common compressed air systems.
  • Altair PollEx increases integration capabilities with existing ECAD file formats, including Zuken. PollEx also features new multi-chip package (MCP) structure analysis capabilities and muti-load net topology creation capabilities by allowing users to adjust load and branch depth parameters.
  • HyperWorks continues to evolve by integrating adaptable, end-to-end, solution-specific workflows that accelerate modeling, analysis, and post-processing in a cloud-scalable, open-architecture environment. Improved modeling, additional third-party solver support, and bulk and granular material simulation post-processing continue to drive automation and productivity.
  • Inspire introduces more advanced geometry creation and physics for analysis and optimization, including a new 3D printing solver in Inspire Print, thermal and mechanical demolding with Inspire Cast, and continued updates to Inspire Mold for injection molding simulation.
  • Altair® MotionSolve® helps ensure consistent results and robust solutions by managing complex or lengthy simulations and co-simulations. Improved MotionView and HyperWorks workflows enable users to co-simulate with EDEM in a live animation mode, enabling greater control over entity editing.
  • Notable enhancements for Altair® Radioss® include 2D seatbelt material and slipring improvements, and solver performance improvements for linear tetrahedron elements and contact interface sorting.
  • Altair SimSolid® technology expands its offering for linear buckling analysis, squeak and rattle, and improvements for structural, dynamics, and fatigue analysis. It can also run nonlinear material solutions up to 2x faster than before while requiring half the memory footprint.
  • EDEM enables more functionalities and increased performance for multi-use GPU solvers, with particular attention to off-road mobility applications. This includes capabilities such as dynamic domains, the PM FlexTire models, and custom geometry deformations.
  • Altair® S-FRAME®'s structural design suite continues expanding concrete, steel, and timber design support for the most recent design codes in multiple regions while enhancing structural analysis capacities for advanced nonlinear analysis.
