Altair UK Modern Slavery Statement

INTRODUCTION FROM THE COUNTRY MANAGER, UK & IRELAND

We, Altair Engineering Ltd (“Altair UK”), are committed to improving our practices to combat slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chain. The below statement highlights the key activities we have undertaken during this financial year to combat modern slavery in our organisation and supply chain, including a full review of our Employee Policies and Procedures (and Contracts of Employment documentation) in November 2024 with our legal advisers. This is in addition to an annual review of our publicised Modern Slavery Statement accessible from our Global website and continued diligence in ensuring employees and agency agreements comply with Labour Law regulations.

ORGANISATION'S STRUCTURE

Altair UK is a provider of software and cloud solutions for simulation, IoT, high performance computing (HPC), data analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI). We are a wholly owned subsidiary of Altair Engineering Inc. (“Altair US”) which has its head office in 1820 E. Big Beaver Rd, Troy, MI 48083 United States. Altair US and its subsidiaries (the “Altair Group”) has approximately 3,700 employees worldwide and operates in 29 countries across Europe, Asia and the Americas. Altair US has a global annual turnover of 613 million US dollars globally (based on FY 2023 US filings).

OUR BUSINESS AND SUPPLY CHAINS

Altair UK operates from 7 offices within UK mainland. Our business is organised into 3 main business units: Simulation, High Performance Computing (HPC), and Data Analytics/Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Altair Group, including Altair UK, utilizes in-house resources to develop software applications, with no physical product produced. As a result, the supply chain which may affect the customer directly is very limited. Our supply chain fundamentally is made up of global enterprise providers of computers and computer resources. There is a relatively small proportion of third party contractors and consultants who directly support the development activities of our products with the other vendors providing day-to-day business services (including but not limited to advisory services, transportation services or office facilities for example).

OUR POLICIES ON SLAVERY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING

Altair UK has policies and guidelines in place that underpin our commitment to ensure that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business. We continuously review and update all our policies and guidelines (annually or bi-annually dependent on requirements).

Our Anti-slavery Policy reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and facilitates the implementation and enforcement of effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our UK supply chain. Our company conducts business in an ethical and transparent manner, and we expect our suppliers to meet our standards. We take our responsibility to prevent slavery and human trafficking very seriously and have a “zero tolerance” policy prohibiting any activities, including engagements with vendors, that support slavery in any form.

We have the following policies in place relevant to modern slavery, which we continuously review and update:

  • Sexual Harassment Policy
  • Equal Opportunities – Bullying and Harassment Policy
  • Anti-Bribery Policy
  • Whistleblowing Policy
  • Anti-Money Laundering Policy
  • Code of Ethics and Business Conduct Policy
  • Insider Trading Policy
  • Foreign Corrupt Practices Policy

In addition to our Policies above, we also promote our Sustainability standards (accessible from https://altair.com/sustainability) and our global Modern Slavery Statement (accessible from https://altair.com/modern-slavery-statement).

DUE DILIGENCE PROCESSES FOR SLAVERY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING

As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risks in our UK operation, we continually review our Employee Policies and Procedures (no less than annually/biennially) and comply with all applicable Labour Law Regulations. In terms of our external supply chain, we are in the process of identifying any potential risks in order to implement relevant global solutions with our parent company.

This identification process could include:

  • Identifying and assessing potential risk areas in our supply chain.
  • Mitigating the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in our supply chain.
  • Monitoring potential risk areas in our supply chain.

SUPPLIER ADHERENCE TO OUR VALUES AND ETHICS

We have zero tolerance to slavery and human trafficking. To ensure all those in our supply chain, our contractors and consultants comply with our values, we have in place a process of reviewing supply chain terms and conditions with relevant internal stakeholders (Finance, HR, Management, Compliance etc.) prior to engagement.

We have a dedicated compliance team, which consists of involvement from the following departments:

  • Legal
  • Human resources.
  • Procurement.
  • Sales.
  • Country Manager / Director (where relevant).

TRAINING

To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, we provide ad-hoc training and/or guidance to our staff through release of documentation across the workforce. Where relevant we may require our business partners to provide training or guidance to their staff and suppliers and providers. Whilst not strictly on the topic of modern slavery we also provide e-training on ethical and cultural matters such as avoidance of bullying, harassment and discrimination, which provides well rounded employee training initiatives linked to modern slavery.

OUR EFFECTIVENESS IN COMBATING SLAVERY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING

Altair UK is considering implementing key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess how effectively we have been—and will continue to be—in preventing slavery and human trafficking within our business and supply chains. As a global organization, we recognize the importance of raising awareness among our employees and stakeholders about modern slavery. We also understand the need to remain vigilant in order to identify, minimize, and eliminate risks within our supply chain, both nationally and internationally.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31 December 2024. It was approved by the Management on 8 May 2025.
