Altair Expands AI Data Science Solutions
Altair GPU Solutions to deliver NVIDIA DGX systems for artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC) in EMEA.
TROY, Michigan, August 20, 2019 – Altair (Nasdaq:ALTR), a global technology company providing solutions in product development, high-performance computing and data intelligence, today launched Altair GPU Solutions, a business unit to provide Altair’s EMEA clients with market-leading NVIDIA graphics processing unit (GPU) solutions. Altair GPU Solutions marks Altair’s expansion into markets for deep learning and AI data sciences, complementing Altair’s existing portfolio in the region.
Altair GPU Solutions has its origins in the highly successful FluiDyna business acquired by Altair in 2018[1]. At the time of the acquisition, FluiDyna was an NVIDIA Elite Partner for DGX and Tesla technology, as well as an NVIDIA Preferred Partner for vGPU and Quadro technology. In relaunching the FluiDyna business as Altair GPU Solutions, the accreditations remain in place and attest to Altair’s commitment and expertise in the business.
“As an NVIDIA Elite Partner, Altair GPU Solutions work closely with NVIDIA to deliver NVIDIA DGX systems to customers with compute-intensive data science and engineering applications,” said Dr. Pietro Cervellera, senior vice president EMEA operations, Altair. “Altair is pleased to expand our technology and service partnerships to our customers through this dedicated business unit.”
Carlo Ruiz, head of EMEA AI Data Center Solutions at NVIDIA, commented, “NVIDIA and FluiDyna have built a strong collaboration and we’re looking forward to growing our collaboration with Altair.”
NVIDIA DGX systems empower data scientists to focus their efforts on data science within a scientific computing framework, where both hardware and associated software infrastructure is supported by NVIDIA. The NVIDIA DGX Software Stack includes GPU-accelerated containers from NVIDIA NGC with preconfigured and fully supported data science toolkits for accelerated AI development using RAPIDS, TensorFlow, PyTorch, MXNet, and more, all ready to run on NVIDIA DGX systems.
The comprehensive GPU technology offering of Altair GPU Solutions is rounded out with access to training courses from the NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute (DLI), which enable new users of AI technology to extract maximum value from their investments in this technology framework. Altair GPU solutions are also ideally suited to high-performance design exploration using Altair engineering software like Altair nanoFluidX and ultraFluidX, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) codes written specifically for execution on GPUs. Altair OptiStruct, RADIOSS and Feko offer similar compute acceleration in the fields of implicit structural and electromagnetics engineering simulation.
