Altair Selected as Official Electrification Technology Partner at CWIEME Berlin 2022

Alliance showcases value of Altair’s simulation-driven design expertise at world-renowned electric motor and transformer manufacturing event May 10-12

TROY, Mich, February 22, 2022 —

Altair (Nasdaq: ALTR), a global leader in computational science and artificial intelligence (AI), and CWIEME Berlin, the world’s largest event dedicated to electric motor and transformer manufacturing, have signed an agreement establishing Altair as the event’s official electrification technology partner. The most important event in the electrical manufacturing industry, CWIEME has been leading the global electrical engineering revolution for more than 25 years.

At the event, Altair – in conjunction with its customer ZF – will give a keynote presentation focused on a unique development platform based on Altair’s eMotor Director. The solution synthesizes complete e-motor platforms for ZF and develops e-motors more cost-efficiently than ever before. Additionally, Altair will host a dedicated technical session with presentations from customers and Altair experts, which will explore simulation-driven design and state-of-the art electric product development, including e-motors and transformers. Altair will also participate in other sessions alongside fellow industry experts from across the supply chain.

In addition to contributing to the CWIEME Berlin agenda, Altair will showcase practical use cases that demonstrate how simulation, AI, and high-performance computing (HPC) are leading the digital transformation in electrification. Altair’s booth presence will include exhibition pieces featuring e-mobility, electric motor, batteries, multiphysics optimization, and system simulation. Booth highlights will include SPIN Applicazioni Magnetiche’s high efficiency e-motor that uses no rare earth magnets, and a demonstration of Capcooltech®, the award-winning motor cooling technology from startup Dynamic E Flow.

Prior to the event, Altair will provide relevant educational content via the CWIEME Berlin online portal, including interviews with Altair’s Richard Yen, senior vice president of global industry verticals, who will discuss e-mobility sustainability, and Lars Fredriksson, vice president of global automotive business, who will discuss e-powertrain development trends and challenges. Additionally, Altair will publish notable case studies and announce a CWIEME and Altair co-presented webinar.

“Unlocking the full potential of advanced digital solutions plays an increasingly important role in the electric motor market,” said Victoria Pope, global head of content, CWIEME. “The combination of simulation and multiphysics optimization tools and methods combined with data analytics, AI, and HPC provided by Altair offer what the industry needs to solve the multiple challenges companies are facing to stay ahead of ever-rising customer expectations. Over the years, Altair’s contribution to CWIEME has become an indispensable part of the program, and we look forward to Altair’s sessions and featured presentations.”

“CWIEME remains an important event to showcase our technologies for electrification, e-motors, and transformers, and we are exited to have been chosen as the event’s official electrification technology partner,” said Dr. Pietro Cervellera, senior vice president of EMEA operations, Altair. “With our solutions, we have been leading the way in product development by helping our customers innovate and push the boundaries of electrification. By providing solutions ranging from specialized tools for multiphysics analysis of electric motors to HPC, AI, and data analytics, we are helping customers address the challenges of digital transformation, electrification, and the ever-changing competitive landscape.”
