Highly-successful Global Altair Technology Conference Attended by Over 800

With over 140 presentations, industry seminars, and impressive keynotes, Altair’s Global ATC in Paris, France was an outstanding success

November 14, 2018 —

The Altair (Nasdaq:ALTR) Global Altair Technology in Paris, France, from October 16-18, was a resounding success. The three-day event, offering more than 140 presentations covering the full breadth of topics around Simulation-driven Innovation™, attracted over 800 attendees from the global engineering community.

Industry seminars and deep technical sessions covered topics including design for manufacturing, lead time reduction, fatigue simulation, design for AM, e-mobility, system simulation, and IoT. The highlights of the premier event were the high-level keynotes presenters. Jaguar Land Rover, Ferrari, Volvo Cars, LG, ClassNK, Harvard Business School, Columbia University and Team Tao revealed how simulation technologies, the development of digital twins, and the deployment of machine learning are influencing the future of product creation. Keynotes by Altair CTOs Dr. Uwe Schramm, James Dagg, and Sam Mahalingam, focusing on the recently announced closer collaboration between Oracle and Altair, gave deeper insights into Altair product development strategy. During his keynote presentation, Altair Founder, Chairman, and CEO Jim Scapa announced the acquisition of SimSolid. SimSolid works on full-fidelity CAD assemblies to provide fast, accurate, and robust structural simulation without requiring geometry simplification, cleanup, or meshing. Attendees had the chance to attend four live demos of the software during the event to get a first impression of the tool.

“We couldn't be more pleased with the outcome of our first Global ATC in Paris,” said Dr. Pietro Cervellera, SVP EMEA of Altair. “The technical depth of the presentations was outstanding and the insights our keynote speakers provided into high-level topics such as artificial intelligence, autonomous drones, driving innovation with simulation and the overall benefits of simulation in all types of industry could not have been better. I would like to thank everyone involved in making this event such a success, especially our customers who presented their solutions and shared their experiences with Altair solutions.”

The technology showcase featured the solutions of more than 20 Altair Partner Alliance Partners, software and hardware allies. Gold Sponsors of the event were HBM Prenscia and Oracle, and the gala dinner was sponsored jointly by Intel and Dell. The exhibition area also featured two stages for product demos, one for the latest versions of the Altair HyperWorks and Altair Inspire product suites - including SimSolid, and one for Altair Partner Alliance partner demos.

“The ATC in Paris was a really inspiring and fantastic event with the opportunity for a vivid exchange of information, many new contacts, and good discussions,” said Prof. Dr. Matthias Leiner, University of Applied Sciences Kaiserslautern. “I am happy to have participated in it."
