Data-driven approaches are increasingly being used in engineering for system modeling. They significantly enhance the ability to generate efficient models that handle the complexity, nonlinearity, and high dimensionality of modern systems more effectively than traditional methods. Indeed, by learning underlying nonlinear relationships from experimental or simulation data -usually generated from computationally intensive high-fidelity models-, these approaches enable fast modeling and simulations without requiring a full mathematical description of the original system.
This leads to the ability to develop better products faster. AI enables engineers to explore many more ideas in even shorter timeframes. Today, advances in technology and computation have made this field easily accessible to everyone. Altair's AI solutions are successfully used worldwide, especially by those with no background in data science or programming.
