Driving Operational Excellence with Digital Twin–Enabled Automated Guided Vehicle Fleet Management

AGV operations often face challenges in task allocation, energy management, and real-time decision-making, leading to inefficiencies and downtime. This project introduces a Digital Twin–based solution that leverages machine learning to assess whether an individual AGV can complete a task based on its state of charge and operating conditions, while also identifying potential constraints. At the fleet level, the system evaluates all available AGVs to recommend the most suitable unit for each task and provides continuous updates on performance metrics such as energy usage, load capacity, distance covered, and overall operational efficiency. This approach enables smarter task allocation, reduces delays, and improves fleet productivity.
