E-Shifter Ribs Topology Optimization

E-Shifter includes a knob and lever arrangement similar to a conventional gear shifter. While conducting structural analysis, the lever component showed a high-stress concentration on ribs as compared to the allowable stress. The rib structure needed to be improved and was hence chosen as the optimization target. With the help of Altair Inspire, we have optimized the design of ribs in a lever of EShifter. The main purpose of this topology optimization is to achieve a design that satisfies the supplier's request for lower allowable stress than that of previous models.
