EDA: More Critical, More Valuable, More Exciting than Ever

The modern EDA era is now 40 years old. Designers have had a love/hate relationship with EDA over the years. I predict that the next 10 years will solidify and strengthen the bonds between design and EDA. The design problems continue to increase in complexity, including adding new dimensions like advanced packaging into the mix. Everyone needs to work together to solve these problems and to find new business models that will unleash design creativity and productivity as has happened more than once before in our short history.
