The key focus of this paper is on estimating and correlating casting soundness and defects seen in software simulation and those observed on real-life castings, essentially enabling a good confidence level in the simulation model with parameters available within Altair Inspire Cast simulation software. The casting models evaluated are typically thin-walled and are prone to fail in pressure leak tests, though no defects are seen in radiography analysis.
