Evaluate the Structural Strength of Bulk Material Handling Equipment using EDEM-OptiStruct (Explicit FEA) 2-way coupling

In this talk, the EDEM-OptiStruct solution is demonstrated for bulk material handling applications such as dump trucks, surface miners, tunnel drill bits, and post-hole diggers. Bulk material handling is crucial in industries such as mining, mineral processing, agriculture, pharmaceutical, automotive, and food processing. Altair EDEM simulates and analyses the behavior and forces of bulk materials in these applications. Coupled EDEM with OptiStruct allows structures and equipment to be optimized for strength, durability and stiffness based on the material interaction forces.
