Exhaust System Cold End Hanger Rod and Muffler Shell Stiffness Analysis Using SimSolid

Exhaust system suppliers are continuously improving and adopting advanced simulation techniques and quick testing procedures for exhaust system optimization to address time to market, faster vehicle launch and first-time and all-time right strategy to comply with performance and durability. This presentation deals with the methodology development of the exhaust system cold end hanger rod and muffler shell stiffness analysis using meshless simulation tool Altair SimSolid. During the concept stage, the design team will develop the CAD model of the whole cold end system based on the isolator position provided by customer.
