Golf Bunker Shot Analysis using EDEM

For golf equipment manufacturers, wedge design for sand bunker play is a key part of the golfing clubs set. The club-sand interaction can be a defining condition for the club head design and hence success of the shot. In this video Altair® EDEM™ software is used to analyze a golf bunker shot by modeling the sand-club interaction down to the particle level to predict the performance of the club head design under different scenarios (different soil conditions, different club designs and swing motion parameters, etc.)
