Making an Impact with AI for Engineering

Presentation by Dr. Fatma Kocer, VP Engineering Data Science at Altair as part of the 2025 ATCx AI for Engineers conference.

As engineers, we are no strangers to AI/ML. We generate data that gets fed into the AI/ML processes. As domain experts, we know how to judge the accuracy of outcomes. Despite that, we are still not able to leverage the full power of AI/ML. That is partially due to the flood of news with new hype that may or may not be relevant for our use cases and partially due to the challenges of upskilling people and scaling up infrastructure for these new types of workloads.

In this presentation, Dr. Kocer establishes how we have always been using ML for engineering, but how Altair is focusing on empowering all engineers with AI/ML by working on critical technologies such as geometric deep learning and knowledge graphs and how we are simplifying infrastructure scaling with Altair One® and Altair® HPCWorks®.
