Metallurgical Predictions of Metal Forming Processes with Accuracy using AFDEX

Finite element (FE) predictions of the strength or life span of metal-formed mechanical parts depend mainly on the microstructural prediction of grain size, phase information, and strain hardening, governed by both flow and heat transfer analyses and microstructural and metallurgical models. Hence, high-precision flow modelling techniques of metallic materials with proper characterization schemes are introduced with an emphasis on the optimization of the material constants. The papers recently published in the learned journals are employed. Several sample examples for the APA/AFDEX module were demonstrated to estimate the strengths of the auto-parts, which are heat treated after forged.
