Minimizing Squeak and Rattle - Altair Solutions Help GAC Minimize S&R and Improve Vehicle Quality

Guangzhou Automobile Group Co. (GAC) research and development (R&D) center is responsible for new technology development and the vehicle design of brands such as Trumpchi and AION. Recently, GAC designed the Trumpchi EMPOW model, a compact coupe with a goal of “zero S&R”. Using Altair® Squeak and Rattle Director™ with a complete S&R CAE solution, GAC’s R&D center created a strong S&R simulation process.

In addition to advanced vehicle and part level S&R test methods, the GAC’s S&R performance development capability is advanced even at the international level. At the sample vehicle stage, EMPOW scored 0.21 for S&R performance (the smallest among all GAC Trumpchi and AION brands and surpasses other competing vehicles).
