Modeling With Composites: An Even Greater Need for Model Validation

Design of critical parts with composite requires closely understanding the underlying mechanical mechanisms of such materials. In order to understand damage mechanisms, they often consider small-scale specimens, and then validate a FE model at the structural scale. Nevertheless, results can vary heavily from initial models, since a lot of parameters have to be identified beforehand, such as bonding interface behavior, plies interactions, or 3D damage mechanics in the case of 3D woven composites. This webinar will demonstrate how EikoTwin facilitates test-dialogue interactions in order to identify such phenomenons and make the simulation model match them.
