The most important requirement for door locks is their lifetime and resistance to vandalism. In order to perform a lifetime evaluation in the design phase, the loads that occur must be known. For this reason, this presentation introduces the analysis of the closing process of a test bench door using Altair Radioss. A model is presented that can be used to calculate the stresses and strains that occur during the closing process in order to make them available to a downstream lifetime calculation. The calculation results were validated using strain gauges and the strain curves are reproduced very well.
