OptiStruct Scalability Using Multiple CPUs and NVIDIA GPUs
Altair® OptiStruct® offers simulation solutions for most engineering and industrial applications. However, the recent trends of increasing product complexity have made simulations computationally intensive — often requiring extensive high-performance computing (HPC). To address this challenge, OptiStruct users can leverage clusters, cloud, and other HPC architectures to run the advanced simulations needed to assess, study, and optimize systems.
In this technical document, users will learn how OptiStruct reduces time-to-results by employing methods like shared memory parallelization (SMP), distributed multiprocessing (DMP), and graphics processing units (GPUs). It will also discuss how to utilize available processing, memory, and disk space resources — in conjunction with multiple central processing units (CPUs) and NVIDIA GPUs — to maximize efficiency and improve turnaround time.
