Pushing Material Design Limits - WEAV3D Uses Altair® HyperMesh® to Automate Simulation Workflow

WEAV3D specializes in the development of advanced composite materials and manufacturing processes, particularly in the field of composite lattice structures. The company's “Rebar for Plastics” technology integrates woven lattices with traditional manufacturing methods such as thermoforming, compression molding, and injection overmolding. Since traditional finite element analysis (FEA) of such lattices is very labor-intensive and requires many manual steps, WEAV3D sought a solution to reduce time, effort, and costs. To achieve these goals, WEAV3D partnered with Altair and TrueInsight, an Altair distribution partner. Using Altair® HyperMesh®, WEAV3D developed a process for efficiently creating composite lattice structure models enabling WEAV3D users to slash time and reduce their costs by up to 87%.
