Realizing the Value of SMEs Manufacturing Data

In this presentation, Simon Coward, Director of the Smart Manufacturing Data Hub discusses how can a manufacturing SME (small, medium enterprise) realise the value of its data and shared data and how we can build low-cost digital factories and grow data centric businesses.

The Smart Manufacturing Data Hub will assist UK manufacturing businesses to adopt new data driven technologies.  SMDH will support SME Manufacturing businesses with an online manufacturing data exchange platform that will enable them to submit their manufacturing data, receive insight and able to benchmark. In return, the platform can help businesses to improve their products and processes, through the academy upskill their workforce, explore industrial digital technologies through the virtual manufacturing platform, secure funding to develop rapid demonstrators, virtual testbeds and large scale lighthouse projects, and share best practice within the online community.
