Thermal Sensitivity Analysis of Transformer Used in On-board Charger of Electric Vehicle

For correct design of transformer, an optimized simulation is required at initial level. This paper presents the simulation study for the sensitivity analysis of transformer using Altair CFD. In this study the sensitivity analysis has been done for the parameters such as air gap between coil, bobbin, and core, change of bobbin and potting material, and potting thickness. This sensitivity study helps in understanding of critical thermal design parameter for transformer. Furthermore, the study is useful for the further improvement in thermal management of transformer.
