LATONA by Integral Technology

Mid-Mesh Generation by Offset and Shape Recognition

LATONA is an automatic mid-mesh generation tool featuring shape recognition and mesh control functions aiming to directly create analysis-ready modeling, which allows automatic settings of wall thickness, material properties, and boundary/load conditions.

Why LATONA?

Reproducibility and Robustness

In order to obtain consistently similar CAE analyses, LATONA serves to generate reproducible and robust mesh results for CAE beginners/experts and CAD designers.

Trackability of the Original 3D Shapes

LATONA adopts offset algorithm to eliminate the main problems in mid-mesh generation, i.e. duplicate/broken meshes, ignored feature lines, etc.

User-Friendly Edit Function

LATONA offers a semi-automatic mode and user-friendly manual edit functions during the mid-mesh generation process, instead of needing to manually edit the final mid-mesh results.

Key Features

Combined Design and Mid-Mesh Modeling

A model will be created with wholly mid-mesh, but LATONA allows shell mesh modeling of combined design (outer surfaces) and mid-mesh.

Robust Mid-Meshing Results

LATONA creates mid-meshes by offsetting outer surfaces into mid position, which allows robust results and improved trackability of its original 3D shape.

Unattended Operation

LATONA is an automatic tool, suitable for unattended operation. It’s suitable for use at night or whenever CAE software licenses aren’t occupied.

Analysis-Ready Mid-Mesh Modeling

LATONA creates mid-mesh along with the settings of wall thickness and material, load, and boundary conditions, which will directly generate analysis-ready models.

Shape Recognition for Mesh Control

LATONA has embedded functions for shape recognition which can be extended for various applications, i.e. mesh control, modeling of connectors in assembly models, etc.

High-Quality Mesh Outputs

LATONA has its own mesh error repair function, in addition to mesh rules, that can be set up by users to repair/improve subpar mesh results.
