Defects Analysis on Investment Casting Process using Altair Inspire Cast with Experimental Validation

The simulation starts with the creation of the CAD model of the product using CATIA. The actual location of shrinkage porosity is compared with the numerical model of the preliminary casting designs and process using the simulation software Altair Inspire Cast 2021. In order to eliminate defects and achieve optimal casting yield, a series of simulation casting designs had been proposed considering the behavior of liquid metal during the filling and solidification stage.
