Deploying Discrete Element Modelling Techniques for Postgraduate Research

This presentation provides an introduction to the Discrete Element Method (DEM) and its application to solve powder processing challenges. Use cases presented include the use of Altair EDEM to simulate a twin screw extruder as well as a proof of concept study using EDEM with CFD to investigate pneumatic conveying.
