Distortion Analysis of Topology-optimized Aileron Bracket using Thermo Mechanical Simulation with Experimental Validation

This research aims to investigate the accuracy of Thermo mechanical simulation in predicting aileron bracket distortion made of austenitic stainless steel SS316L additively manufactured using selective laser melting (SLM). SLM-based components often induce significant distortion as a result of the high-temperature gradient induced by rapid cooling of the melt during the fabrication process.
