Multi-stage Separation Structural Analysis using Altair SimSolid

Rocket stage separation is one of the critical aspects of rocket operation. Successful stage separation is ensured by accuracy in design and timing. An intricate mechanism is realized on par with our rocket stage specification. In search of a tool to analyze this design, we crossed paths with Altair SimSolid. To ascertain separation mechanism design, the model consisting of multiple components has to be analyzed for both, static and dynamic behaviors. The mechanism has a great deal of dependencies on contact forces, preload applications, and stresses generated.
