The “NaMiKo” project shows a physical automobile center console demonstrator as the physical and touchable result of a much wider-reaching digital and analytical holistic thought process. “Sustainability Value” describes a new systemic and holistic paradigm toward the measurable assessment of sustainability in relation to economics (cost) and lightweight design (weight). The “NaMiKo” project uses the decision-making process “Sustainability Value” for decisions in the early project phase. The result is in the form of a sustainable automobile center console with a biobased, waste-free, additively manufactured, organic, and load path-driven string-art truss structure. Therefore, a very low carbon footprint, is evaluated through the whole chain from cradle to cradle.
