5X Faster Steel Connection Analysis - Renowned Architectural Firm Uses Altair SimSolid® to Slash Project Timelines

The Antara Fase II project in Mexico City, a complex high-rise building, posed multi-hazard resilience challenges due to potential earthquakes, winds, and floods. The project demanded innovative structural solutions, and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), the structural engineers for the project, faced tight deadlines unsuited to traditional Finite Element Method (FEM) analysis. To overcome these challenges, SOM adopted Altair SimSolid®, a mesh-free analysis solver that could act directly on imported 3D CAD models without requiring geometry simplification or complex mesh creation. SimSolid quickly generated accurate and reliable analysis results and reduced the simulation time from weeks to a few days, significantly accelerating SOM's workflow.
